Everywhere I go, people want to see my cool tablet computer and have me show them all of the bells and whistles. Talk about a WOW factor!

The first perception most people have is that it is just a big PDA or fancy toy. The reality is that a Tablet PC is as fully-functional as a laptop PC and plus much more! About the size of a legal pad of paper, my tablet PC gives me the ability to carry a small, light, easily accessible piece of hardware that has everything I need at my fingertips.

Here are just a few of the ways the tablet makes life easier:

• I can write on it with the special pen and it will turn my handwriting into text
• I can have clients to sign contracts and then email them immediately
• I can draw sketches or floorplans in the Journal feature as I am touring the property
• I can access the Internet all the time: either with the built-in wireless or with my aircard
• I can write on the screen during a PowerPoint Presentation
• I have a fingerprint recognition so I can store all my passwords.

The Tablet takes us one step further to a paperless environment.

Two Tips if you already have a Tablet

1. The Trick to Sign Forms on a Tablet

Open your contract in Zipforms or whatever program you are using. Complete the contract the normal way, until you have filled in everything and it is read for signatures. Then go to File/Print and now choose Journal Note Writer instead of your normal printer.

Now you will have the contract in Journal and it can be signed, initialed or otherwise marked with the pen. It will be saved in this program when you close it.

When you are done, from the File dropdown, you can email it:

- Choose Send to Mail Recipient
- You can send the seller a copy at the same time you are sending to the other agent
- A new email is opened with this as an attachment for you address and send a greeting.
- You will be given format choices for emailing and the default is usually the Journal’s format (jnt). This will not open for anyone who does not have a tablet or Journal software. So you want to send it in a .tif file, which will be like a photo and printable but not changeable.
