I didn't think so...Neither do I! So, what's a person to do?  Here is some of my thinking: 1. Create Some Memories-Give the gift or your time to those you care about. It's all about love anyway, so think of a way you can spend some time with loved ones creating times that will be treasured: A ride in a limo to go shopping with a group of girlfriends. A picnic on Christmas Eve with the kids & Grandkids and then a drive though the best decorated neighborhood. A promise of a monthly luncheon for an elderly relative that doesn't get out much. Some babysitting for a young couple. A trip to the beach with the family instead of spending Christmas at home(someone else can do the cooking).   Slow down, shun the mall and dream up a way to share yourself with those who love you. Your time is the BEST gift you could give most people!   2.  Brighten Someone's Day- A few years ago, when I rode my bike daily on the frontage road by I-10, I rolled up $1 bills and placed them along the road in the signs for the people who were wallking that road to find. When I shared this with some girlfriends, one said she was going to pick out the worst looking car in front of the store when she went shopping and leave a $5 bill under the windsheild wiper.   There is abundance your world and the universe will reflect back what you put out...find a way to give anonymously to delight someone else.   3. Take Some Time To Nourish Yourself Look at the calendar right now and find a few hours or a day that will be YOUR time between now and the end of the year. Get a massage, have an indulgent bubblebath in the middle of the day, or just walk in the woods. Give to yourself!   4. Have Some Child Time! Revel in that childlike curiosity. My granddaughter, Lily, continually delights me by pointing out things as she is learning words and "seeing" things with a fresh perspective. She thinks it is unremarkable we have a tree with lights in the hous- just one more of those new things in her life!  If you don't have a child under 5 in your life, find a way to borrow someone else's! Bring yourself into the present moment by playing for an hour or two and really paying attention to how a child is able to look at the world through the eyes of wonder. 5.Be thankful for all the wonderous things you do have!!!!!!!!  Make a list at the end of each day from now until the end of the year of those things you are grateful for each day! And take the time to let others know you appreciate them. That's the best gift you could give someone. How blessed I am that she has gotten me to slow down and smell the roses (and look at rocks!). And I feel very grateful to you for being part of my life and giving me the encouragement and support you have, in little and big ways! Thank you!!!! Yes, I mean YOU. Are you busy or productive? Don't confuse activity with accomplishment. Management expert Peter Drucker defines them like this: - Efficiency is doing things right. - Effectiveness is doing the right things. There is no point doing well what you shouldn't be doing at all. The 20/80 Rules says 20% of your actions produce 80% of your results. Are you doing the RIGHT things? I suggest my clients spend 1 day each week like that day before vacation-Focused, in action and prioritizing and only doing the things that will make the most difference. If you incorporated a super-productive Business Building Day each week, you could find yourself makingmore and working less. Manage the time by blocking without interruptions, by setting boundaries with others and by honoring your own time and schedule.
