Joeann's Musings: Enjoying
The Reserve |

I feel so blessed and
rich. While we certainly won't make Fortune's list of
the wealthiest people in the World, as I sit here this
morning enjoying a cup of coffee with my wonderful
partner, Bub, while 22 month Lily still sleeps in her
crib, I am so grateful at what life has given me.
And I am excited to
find out what's next!
I believe what you focus on expands. As a
recovering control freak, it has not always been easy
to accept the surprises as good news. Perhaps you can
relate. When I don't get what I really wanted or don't
make a goal or when a situation with other family
members isn't they way I think would be best.....I do
have a "default
thinking"
about the unfairness of life. Yep, I'm human! The
really cool thing is that I don't stay there long
these days. I take a deep breath or, if I can,
actually take 10 or 15 minutes, to reflect or
meditate.....something to bring myself to mindfulness,
instead of reacting from my unconscious. It's like
stepping off that little hamster wheel to decide if this
is really worth disturbing my peace where I
want to spend the rest of the day.
Once I take a look,
usually I decide to
go in the direction of what I CAN do. I also
have begun to realize when I don't get what I want,
there is probably
something BETTER
in store that the old control freak couldn't have
imagined. It takes a lot of trust on my part to know
that if I do the best I can, I will attract the
perfect situations and outcomes.
So, it's been
a good summer and I am grateful. I have had some
wonderful opportunities to present GRI and LTG Classes
as well as some of my seminars. I love the traveling I
get to do to come see you! It is fun being able to
include Bub and Lily sometimes. My coaching practice
is nearly full with inspiring clients who are
producing miracles. And we paid off the house this
summer.
I am fortunate to
have reserve in my life. I watch agents who focus on
how things are not where they want and what they don't
have and find they usually have a stuckness there. As
I coach clients to build their reserves, or to focus
on what they do have, this stuckness dissipates and
there begins a bigger flow of positive results. If you
think of the way the universe works as a big mirror
reflecting back to you your dominate thoughts, you can
see if you say, "I'm too fat" or "I never have enough
business" that's what you are gonna get...The Universe
will say,"Yep, you're right!" and then give you a
reality that fits with that. Most of us don't realize
how very powerful we can become by merely focusing on
what we do have.
Building and then appreciating your areas of reserve
will expand that conciousness and help you create it
more easily in other areas?
Where are you already
RICH??????
Think about the
places where you
have plenty. Do
you have a reserve of love? of friends?
of food in the fridge? of great ideas?
I bet there are lots
of areas.....rejoice in these today. You are blessed
too!

last quarter. Is it just that I am getting older
that this acceleration of time is happening or

With the October 1
deadline approaching, now is the time to do what you
can to position yourself with those who you want to
have permission to contact.
This month, you
should call everyone in your sphere of influence and
client base. This act may set you up for increased
business this fall by virtue of the contact! Your
conversation can be of the FORD nature (Ask about
Family, Occupation,Recreation & Dreams) and let them
know you want to update your files and make sure it
is okay to call them with real eatate information.
Additionally, update your email addresses and
permission.
Hobbs-Herder
reports that giving superior service is not what has
agents get referrals, but rather staying in touch
and asking for referrals is what drives that engine.
It doesn't have to be an obnoxious or pushy request.
A simple statement like, "You know, I feel
so fortunate because my business lets me work with
great people like you. I know you probably hear of
others who are thinking about moving. Would you let
me know if there is someone you think I could help?"
Think about what
other groups of people you want to be able to call
and set about contacting them this month too! If you
have a farm area or niche market, call all of them.
If you make these
calls this month, you'll be ahaead of 95% of the
other agents and I bet you'll pick up some business
because of it! Regardless, you'll be well positioned
to make 2004 a great year. |
